Liturgy of the Word with Children

(Elementary: Grades Kindergarten – Grade Five)

For a number of years Our Lady of Grace Parish has celebrated the Liturgy of the Word with Children during at least one of the weekend Masses. Currently, Liturgy of the Word with Children is celebrated during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass. 

This celebration includes the readings for the day proclaimed from the Lectionary for Masses with Children, as well as the Psalm and Gospel Acclamation that follows the pattern and the Scripture readings celebrated by their parents and others in the main body of the church. Their celebration of the Liturgy of the Word also includes a reflection on the readings, a Profession of Faith, and Prayers of the Faithful, before they return to join the congregation for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. This celebration is geared for children from kindergarten through fifth grade as they are best able to participate.
