Parish Ministries
Liturgical worship is primarily the work of the assembly. Each person by his/her presence and participation makes the liturgy truly communal. Special ministries are identified and performed by specific parishioners.
ALTAR SERVERS: Boys, girls, men and women who assist the priest during the celebration of the Mass in ways appropriate to their special ministry.
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION: Women and men commissioned by the bishop and appointed by the pastor who minister by giving holy Communion, both by bread and cup, at liturgies.
LECTORS: People who minister to the community by proclaiming the word of God during the Liturgy of the Word.
MUSIC MINISTRY: The music ministry plays an integral part in our liturgical life. Our Lady of Grace Parish has several choirs. Premiere sings on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m., Memorial sings at funerals, and Children’s sings on Christmas Eve. The community is also served by cantors, who are leaders of song during Mass.
USHERS AND GREETERS: Ushers serve by assisting in seating worshippers and giving direction in the movement of the assembly, particularly at Communion time. Greeters welcome parishioners and visitors as they enter to worship with the community.
COMMUNION TO THE SICK AND HOMEBOUND: People who are assigned to take holy Communion to the sick and homebound, as well as to those in nursing and personal care homes.
